Who I am

My name is Matis Langsam. I live and work in Brooklyn, New York. I operate this personal assistant service as a sole proprietor — there is no company behind it, no staff, and no customers. It is my own tool, and I describe it publicly here because the phone carriers that deliver its text messages reasonably expect to know who stands behind a number.

Why it exists

I use a basic mobile phone without apps or internet. That is a deliberate choice, but it means the ordinary conveniences of a smartphone — reminders, lists, a quick lookup — are not available to me. So I built an assistant that works entirely over text message, which my phone does handle, and over Telegram, which I can reach from a computer.

How it is built

The assistant runs on Cloudflare's network and uses Anthropic's Claude model to understand what I write. Messages travel over a regulated telephone carrier. Everything it remembers on my behalf is stored in a private database that only I control.

Scope

This service is not offered to the public. Nothing is sold here, no accounts can be created, and no one else's phone number is or can be enrolled. If that changes, this page will change with it.
