Privacy Policy

Tom is a small service operated by Matias Langsam, a sole proprietor in Brooklyn, New York. This policy explains what it collects from the people who use it, why, and how to have it removed.
What is collected
- Your mobile number, so replies and reminders reach you, and the name you are enrolled under.
- Your messages — what you send the assistant and the replies it sends back.
- What you ask it to remember: your reminders, tasks and notes.
- Your Telegram chat identifier, if you choose to link Telegram.
- Basic operational records such as delivery status, message counts and error logs, used to keep the service working and within its limits.
Nothing else is collected. There are no cookies, no analytics, no advertising identifiers and no tracking on this website.
How it is used
Solely to operate the assistant for you: to understand a request, produce a reply, deliver a reminder you scheduled, and recall something you asked it to remember. Nothing is used for advertising, profiling or analytics.
Separation between subscribers
Each subscriber's messages, reminders, tasks and notes are stored against their own account and are not visible to any other subscriber. The operator can access stored data, because he administers the database, but does not read it except when needed to fix a fault or when required by law.
Who else sees it
Operating the service requires a small number of providers, and they receive only what is needed to do their part:

No mobile information is sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Personal information is not sold or traded under any circumstances. The only other disclosure would be to comply with the law.
SMS consent
Consent is given in two steps: a form on this site where you enter your own number and tick a box that is not pre-checked, and then a confirmation text sent by you from that handset. Both are required before any message is sent to you. SMS consent is never shared with third parties. Consent is withdrawn by replying STOP, which stops all messages immediately.
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept while you use the service. Reply STOP and messages stop at once. To have your stored data deleted entirely, email mat@matlangsam.com and it will be removed, normally the same day. You may also ask what is held about you.
Security
Connections are encrypted in transit. Access credentials are stored as encrypted secrets, and only the operator can reach the stored data.
Children
The service is not directed to children and is not knowingly provided to anyone under 13.
Changes
Any change to this policy will be posted on this page with a new date above. Material changes will also be sent to subscribers by text.
